New Rural Neighbors - 2026

The New Rural Neighbors project aims to promote social inclusion, community coexistence, and the development of rural municipalities at risk of depopulation. The program seeks to facilitate the social, employment, and community integration of individuals who reside or wish to settle in rural environments, promoting access to social resources, strengthening the community fabric, and improving quality of life in these territories.

Overall, the beneficiary population consists of adults in situations of or at risk of social vulnerability who reside or are interested in residing in rural areas of the Valencian Community, especially those at risk of depopulation. The program is aimed at both new residents and neighbors who already live in these municipalities and require social support to improve their participation and access to resources.

Among the main activities of the program are:
• Conducting an individualized social assessment for each participant.
• Designing a personalized support pathway adapted to their needs and objectives.
• Providing guidance and orientation for accessing public, social, and employment resources in the area.
• Offering continuous social support during the integration process in the municipality.
• Organizing community participation spaces, neighborhood gatherings, and intercultural activities aimed at strengthening coexistence, social cohesion, and mutual understanding among the municipality’s residents.

Through these actions, the program contributes to strengthening community life, promoting rural repopulation, and generating new opportunities for local development, fostering positive coexistence among the different individuals who are part of the community.

This program is subsidized by the Generalitat Valenciana, under the Ministry of Social Services, Family, and Children.
