Empowerment and hope: support for migrant women victims of gender-based violence.

The programme “Empowerment and hope: support for migrant women victims of gender-based violence” aims to provide comprehensive support to migrant women who are experiencing or are at risk of gender-based violence.

Through a comprehensive approach, the programme offers legal advice, psychological support, employment guidance, and information about social resources and services, with the aim of accompanying women throughout their empowerment process.

Psychological support

Individual sessions are provided to help manage stress, cope with trauma, and promote emotional well-being, offering a safe space for listening and support. In addition, group sessions are organised to share experiences, strengthen relationships, and create mutual support networks. These activities are complemented by self-care workshops focused on promoting mental and emotional health.

Information and social support

The programme provides personalised guidance on the resources and services available at national and local level for women victims of gender-based violence.

Through an individual support plan, participants are guided through the steps required to request assistance, access services, contact specialised support networks, and ensure comprehensive support for their children as well.

Legal advice

Participants receive information about legal procedures for reporting situations of violence, requesting protection measures, and accessing free legal assistance. Guidance is also provided on labour rights, including employment contracts, wages, maternity rights, and ways to report labour abuse or contact protection bodies.

Employment guidance

The programme promotes women’s economic autonomy and socio-labour inclusion by improving their skills and employment opportunities.

Workshops and individual guidance are offered on job searching, interview preparation, use of digital tools, vocational training, and the development of personalised employment integration plans.

This programme seeks to support the recovery, autonomy, and empowerment of migrant women, strengthening their personal, emotional, and professional capacities so they can rebuild their lives free from violence.
